Vocational skills Training conducted with the women of SNS foundation dewas, M.P.

Recently conducted this workshop with some women from SNS foundation Dewas which teaches vocational skils to women from weaker sections of the society. This was a 10 day workshop conducted for these women, so that they can be empowered . The idea was to use low cost raw materials and make products of functional use and aesthetic appeal. The fibre is extracted from the sheath of banana by hand or machine. Our collection includes shopping bags, placemats and rugs made of banana fibre. Palm leaves are cut, sun dried, spliced, dyed and then used to make bags and other decorative items using weaving, wrapping, braiding and knotting techniques.

I taught art and craft at Anand Niketan Democratic School-Bhopal from June 2014 to March 2016, helping pupils realize their creativity in bricolage (making things out of waste material), origami, collage, macramé, etc. Working with children was a great learning experience for me and also helped reignite my creative talent. Craft training workshop conducted with trainers of Samavesh - an NGO in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh)

I conducted a three-day workshop for trainers of Samavesh, an NGO that works to improve teaching and learning in government-run schools , in crafting useful articles out of mud, papier mache, waste paper and plastic bottles, as well as in block printing making one’s own blocks using potato, iron nails, rubber, foam sheet, etc.
